"Stalin had small use for "bourgeois scruples."
He seldom hesitated to do the opposite of what
he said, or say the opposite of what he did.
He felt that any means justified the noble ends
of making the Soviet Union a workers' and peasants'
paradise. Even as he seized power from local soviets,
he blandly declared,"The Party ought to embark
resolutely on the path of internal deomcracy."
Conspiring with the Party's Right Wing, he destroyed
the Left Opposition. Conspiring with the Center, he
destroyed the Right Opposition. He assured the Center
that when the dictatorship of the proletariat had abolished
classes in Russia, "the Communist Party will have fulfilled
its mission and can be allowed to disappear." But he entrenched the Party firmly in the Kremlin,
an unshakable monolith.

"Son of an impoverished shoemaker, raised in a backward Asiatic-Russian province, Joseph Stalin only had a minimum of education."
.....from a biography of Joseph Stalin
Man of Steel by Jules Archer
