It's not fair to take him out either. Besides I doubt the new way will catch on with out serious agreement with everyone the actual names. Also I can't think of a more important person to human history then Jesus. After all who else can claim to have affected 2,000 years of history like him? History is really split around Christ it isn't being selfish it is just fact. If you want to call it B.C.E. (Which is really odd considering that C.E. would included many reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy old things.) call it that. I just saw the change has simply a hack against Christianity.
