Dear Paul Moran,

Your science is a bit off. From your post:

This is not true. The prediction of proton decay comes from GUT theory. The prediction of the Big Bang comes from reversing the observed expansion of the universe. The Big Bang cannot predict anything. Only humans can.

Various theories predict a smooth transition from a previous universe to ours, principally string theories.

The observation of the CMBR-cosmic microwave backgroud radiation- indicates that the universe was once a thousand times smaller than it is today. Nothing else is known for sure.
