One question, though:

"We attempt to build a map of a territory, so to speak; but no matter how accurate the map, it is only a map, and is not the "true" territory."

Why is it that our 'maps' are accurate at all? Why does it seem that our most beautiful and simple equations seem to say so much and explain so well (e.g., E=mc^2, E=hf, p=mv, etc) not too mention simple concepts such as symmetry being able to derive much of fundamental physics? If the 'map' is not true, then why do we see this phenomena in our equations and theories?
