I would go further and argue that sensory perception is the definition of truth. Seeing is knowing rather than believing.

Proof is possible, but like quantum mechanics, proof in the Hume sense profoundly disturbs the system

Exactly my point. There's only so much we can ask before we lose the ability to understand the answers. At first the fact that we can't know everything might lead one to think nothing at all can be known for certain, but the fact is that we do know a lot of things even if we don't really understand how we know it.

So on close examination it becomes clear, to me at least, that reason and faith are not antagonic but they actually go hand in hand in a dynamic process where one influences and constantly reshapes the other - the miracle of creation.
