Besides, the bible does not promise peace. It is just one of the possibilities.

Since God gave humans free will, god cannot predict what choices we will make. We may still choose suicide by massive nuclear exchange. But that prospect is diminishing.

The whole idea of free will is very important. It limits god's power to control and to predict. God can create coincidences that give us opportunity. But we get to decide on whether or not we will act on what god arranges for us.

In my life, god is quite redundant if he really wants me to choose something. Like I will have at least three reasons to choose a particular course.

Likewise, god is redundant in his prophecy, offering the world several choices. In fact, the best god can do is the list all the possibilities. That is exactly how you should read revelations.

Pardon my preaching, but the concept of free will is all important and its consequences are most often overlooked.
