When one's value system--the very thing that makes one believe life to be worth living--demands belief in one thing at all cost and despite all evidence, one becomes adept at inventing false (but superficially satisfying) arguments. I won't change anyone's mind, but it is still fascinating to see how far someone will go to refute the evidence that is plain before his own eyes.
