I used computer technology which is an argument appealing to intelligent design, since we the humans, are the intelligent beings responsible for guiding computer evolution.

Perhaps that was a mistake, but it wasn't the argument I was getting at...
I was simply refering to gradual change through many small random improvements/mistakes. Those changes that are favorable will be used in the next generation of computer construction, those that are mistakes... won't. Same thing with biological evolution: nature will smile upon those creatures capable of survivng long enough to have children. Those that are incapable will as a natural consequence, not pass their incompetency on to any children (obviously since they are dead).
