What you have identified is the highly significant power of one's conscious mind to
construct impressively complex ideas from
found parts.

On this one, the simpler theory gives me comfort:
They're balls of stuff orbiting the sun.

There are several different culturally-laden ways of interpreting all the attributes of anything -- comets or otherwise.

What you have just experienced
gives an account of the beauty and
grandeur of our minds.
