wrote the Massachusetts constitution, which was the source of the US Constitution. As far as I know he was not Jewish.

It was the first time in Judaism that the law of moses was applied to thinking- when Jesus said that you broke the law against adultery when you lust after a woman in your heart.

Other religions, particularly the eastern religions have emphasized pure thinking much more than even Christianity.

Jews have been strong supporters of as much freedom as possible because the Christians denied them freedoms for so many centuries. Islam on the other hand did not deny the Jews freedoms except perhaps in the last century.
