Actually, that makes little sense. A church that is held seperate from the state would be the same thing as you alluded to above. Though, its the added 'd' that means the church and state are united and need to be seperated.

Wow! You do know that it took religion a while to accept that the earth moves around the sun? Science nailed that and accepted it rather easily. Today the church is against helping find cures to diseases by wanting to ban embryonic stem cell testing. It also took the Church a while to finally accept evolution. The church and science have rarely been good bed fellows.
