but more likely, you have an incurable prejudice.

If you cannot provide significant support for the idea that Christianity needs invasions by the Ottoman Empire and the Moors in order to "exit the dark ages" then you have just dangled yourself rather far off a limb! If you mean that
Islam, the philosophy, helped bring peace to an area, Europe, and a religion, Christianity, that had been pressed by various Mediterranean empire including Islamic ones, then please provide support for that.
Rich:
"As for Asia, India hasn't progressed much because of problems coming directly from British occupation."
So how did that work? Please explain your exact assertion with supporting details. Or, if I understand the usual custom with some folks: if you are alleging "whitey bad, nonwhitey good" then never mind.
Rich:
"China has a well established science core, as does the remaining of the Far East."
All of those countries were medieval until recent contact with the west. If you really want the details, okay...but it seems to work exactly counter to your original fecis.. I mean, thesis.
Rich:
"Granted, I'd rather live in Canada or the US, but this has more to do with younger cultures."
That's quite a pantload, Rich, considering that English is part of the language family which
gave rise to yoga.
Rich:
"The universal principles of freedom for all has not been realized by any group of religions, from Christianity to Taoism."
In fact, advocacy for such is explicity missing from most religions. Our U.S. Constitution has
been the trendsetter for the world in even broaching the subject as law.
Tender regards, newbie,
Mike
