(1) The covering of the body by a veil is a long standing tradition started by at the beginning by Adam and Eve when they felt shame in their nakedness in that perhaps they felt vulnerable to one another. The wives of all the prophets covered their bodies and especially their faces because from the face eye contact is made (visual lusts etc.). What we see on the movies today is not indicative of the facts. Because in an orthodox family one can sin through covetousness one being held guilty through seeing the object or person that they may unnaturally covet to have for themselves or by criticizing the looks of another and coveting one over another whom by looks alone has been judged and not by their conduct and the other being made guilty by becoming the object or person coveted by another.

(2) The Mutilation I believe is a cultural tradition that has falsely been attached to the religions of differing kinds. We must look at what example is the best and chose from those. And the best examples are set by our prophets From Adam To Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah (G_D) be on them all)

Dose this make sense to you?

(inward and outward beauty) is the shining forth of G_D's Light. (Persian Saying)

Best regards,
Jisbpond
