: : : Did anyone see Frontline in PBS reagarding this subject? I missed it but a friend told me all about it. Interesting but expected. Certain circumstance in the history of a culture makes them behave a certain way, anthropology 101. Apocalyptic behavior is very much a Jewish thing, consider their being the constant outcast of early society, has been adopted by the Christians into their religious psyche. Hmmm? Hollywood...a quisi Christian/ Jewish view of the world has influenced in the hypeand media because of it's cultural upbringing in history. Result: Self professing and self-fulfilling profecy and miracles...hype to scare and recruit the non-believers. Hmmm?

: : bzrd here: The word Apocalypse comes from the Catholic Bible; virtually the same book as Revelation in the King James Version. It is one [of many] mis-understood and mis-interpreted tenants of the Judeao-Christian belief. Apocalypse, as defined by the secular culture, is synomonous with the end of the world; nowhere in the Bible does it say the world is going to end. What it does refer to is, "the end of the age", which if the prohecies are true, we are fast approaching. Though there is a grain of truth in what you say. For ex. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on Palm Sunday, "to fulfill as it is written", this is a "self-fulfilling prohesey". This is not suprising considering He was a Jew and was certainly aware of the Old Testament prohesies. However, there are MANY prohesies that have been fulfilled, which if one were to assume were self-fulfilled, would require some dubious logic. The prophet Daniel predicted the rise and fall of the Babylonian and Roman-Greco empires up to and including the current EU. The only premises one could use to refute this could only entail cosmic conincidence or collaberation of the principals involved. Neither deserves much consideration from a logical perspective.

: ***I was curious if there are hints about space travel in this day and age included in the interpretations of the Bible? The Science Fiction writers "prophosyed" such events, I wonder if they were inspired or just had a mix of good imagination and grasp of thier current science?

bzrd here: One of the signs of the latter days is "strange signs in the heavens". The Cydonia Complex on Mars contains pyramids and a face that is very simular a Sphynx. There are no aliens in the Hollywood sense of the word. These are nothing more than demons that have roamed the earth and heavens since Lucifers fall. Gen. 6 says that "the sons of God went into the daughters of Adam" this was an unholy unioun which produced the Nephilium or race of giants if you will. This was probably the main reason for the flood, which "killed" the flesh component of these beings and left the supernatural component to run free. It is thought by some that the gods of ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman etc cultures were actually manifestations of these wayward demon spirits, as they would have some limited supernatural powers. Fast-forward about 3500 yrs and you have the UFO phenom. Why would a race of beings with the tech no-how to traverse many light-yrs be foolish enough to let us see them once they got here? It seems they would either a) not want us to see them or b) want us to see them so as set up some dialogue or what-ever. We[you?] are being "prepared" for the mid-Tribulation point when Satan and his cronies are kicked out of the first heaven and must inhabit the earth. I wonder if the "story" will have somethinmg to do with aliens from outer space wanting to help us "evolve" into a higher spiritual realm or the like?
