Twain's thought comes to mind:
We have great difficulty solving some of our everyday problems correctly. It is only when confronted with the ultimate mysteries that all our difficulties evaporate.

Twain frequently was trying to be a little bit
annoying, I think -- the true 'annoyment' that comes
with a point like that.
