100 years after the birth of Jesus according to biblical scholars. John the writer in Greek is not the Apostle John. However, the statement may still be accurate. I tend to beklieve it is authentic because of the correlation of the Christ phenomenon with the teachings of Buddhism.

That line, that no one comes to the father except through me may be interpreted as Christ being available to everybody alive for salvation. In Buddhism for example, Christ is known as the Lord of Great Compassion, who is available to all, Buddhists and non-Buddhists for salvation. Sevaral paths are described in the Tebitian Book of the Dead, including with the aid of the Lord of Great Compassion.
