Hi Dick,

You are right, my wording gave a false impression of the starting point. I should have said, "If we look at the [traditional scientific method] of understanding our universe, we realize that all we have to work with are sense impressions"

In my paragraph to Gina, I think I did a little better in distinguishing between the traditional scientific approach and your approach by first sketching out some constraints on the traditional approach and your approach. I tried to identify your starting point in the sentence, "Dick approached the problem by examining a completely arbitrary set of numbers."

I have achieved my major objective though: to give you a sufficient kick in the pants to get you to write a summary that Mike and I and other ordinary people can grasp. I am looking forward to seeing it.
