Yes you can, and you can get a perfectly rational number. All you have to do is change your number system from decimal to tertial. Look at some basic tertial arithmetic:

1 + 1 = 2
1 + 2 = 10
2 + 2 = 11
1/10 = 0.1 (!!!!!)

0.1 in tertial is exactly the same thing as 0.33333.... in decimal. Think about that for a while and figure out what the real problem is.

Alan, you are a pretty smart guy, but as Luis said you have to allow your intelligence to distill the gross output of your imagination. When you do that then you'll be really on to something; until then you'll be mostly babbling.
