: What conflicts are there between the Roman Catholic : Church and astonomy? : What is the big bang Theory? : How was our solar system crreated? As I understand it, the Catholic Church has basically embraced the Big Bang theory. It feels that the theory is fully consistent with the concept of God the Creator. In fact, I seem to recall that the Vatican sponsored a scientific symposium in the 80's re the Big Bang theory and invited many of the world's top scientists.
