They idea that that much coral grew in one year is obviously wrong. There is no point in my trying to argue that because that isn't what I beleive.

First the land is above water now and for 1,500 (aproximate) years that it was underwater this would not prove to be a problem.

If you take that time span you get a .609 cm per year growth rate. So if anything the growth rate pre flood is slower than after it. That is unless the flood washed away the other layers of coral.

Of course my knowledge on pre flood coral growth rate is very weak right now. So for right now don't hold me to that. Thanks.

What is the fossiization rate anyway?
