Hi Harv,
"The only problem I have with this is that relations exist because the relatum exist. That is, we have relatum thus we have relations."
Yes, this occurred to me also.
Solution: What if "perspectives" could be like "objects"?
After all, with a hologram, many perspectives generate the hologram "object"
What if there are many perspectives on God; and if "objects" are created by logically consistent development of common ground among perspectives?
If relations are between perspectives; then the relatum are the "objects" created by shared perpectives. Thus the kingdom of Heaven is likened to a small seed that grows to a great tree, and the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.
Thinking: in solving disputes, resolving misunderstandings, in loving another person: this involves surely the seeking of "comon ground", seeking that place where each person can BE.
"Meaning" would be "common ground".
Mass = meaning. Energy = a range of perspectives.
E = mc squared gives E (as a range of perspectives) = m (common ground) x c (also common ground) x c ( also common ground)
Thus energy can convert to mass, and vice-versa (Free range of perspectives can become 'common ground', and vice versa)
A way of looking at a way of looking: Relativity.
Finding a perspective (particle) common to a range of perspectives (wave) and to a choice of perspective: or finding the mass-object (that describes a range of perspectives that like holography projects this object) common to two other perspectives:
looks like QED.
Gravity: involves common ground; also energy (a range of perspectives) has gravity (attraction to common ground).
If the creation involves relations between objects (which are created by shared perspectives, created by agreement, by love); everything involves perspectives on God. Is one's CONSCIOUSNESS created as a way of looking at a way of looking at God, thus as a consciousness!?
But one is real, and distinct from God; yet one with Him. One is a consciousness, conscious of the source of consciousness, it seems.
Why does a relation need to have a reason? Surely it can be, because it is possible to be. It is a possible perspective?
The relation between 1 and 2 is a perspective on the "God", the "Existence" of 1 and 2. A perspective on Existence; a creation of God. The law of non-contradiction safeguards its existence. Other perspectives, other creations, are possible.
Maybe it's something like this: God can create relation and relatum; as relation is 'the law of non-contradiction' and relatum is 'a way of looking at God; a way of looking at a way of looking gives a relationship through common ground, the law of non-contradiction, a consciousness of God"?
It is outside time: eternal, living God; you may see Him from many perspectives. With , through, and in Him, you are alive in discovering ways of looking at ways of looking; creating in harmony with Him.
Thanks,
dolphin
