Hi Alan
To use political debating tactics in a scientific debate between allies, in a search for truth ...this is what appears nutty to me. So you are not alone. These two genres of argument do not mix well. One looks crazy in the context of the other. An honest search for truth is completely out of place in a political debate, which is a search for influence among the less-well-informed, on average...even if they are only slightly less well informed.
I did work for free here and now it's done.
