Hi Alan,
Your posts have increased in lucidness, I think?

I'm enjoying your thoughtful sentence structures.

One point briefly:
"I have assumed the hypothesis that the purpose of reproductive activity is reproduction"

1) If we decide what the purpose of each part of life is, including the social activities, we shall have a can of worms, I think.
2) Bonobos, which are a close relation of chimpanzees, use sex (in a rather shocking way by our standards) to keep peace and to reconcile after conflict. I read this in National Geographic, among other places...they had a cover story about it one month. Would we say they are being "unnatural" or that they use sex for the wrong purpose?

3) I strongly agree that children, though they need not be placed in full authority before they are ready, ought to be heeded and respected
on matters concerning the communication of their
mindfulness. I like your idea that the thrill of being alive itself might be better than sex.

It's Sunday and I have to go places...even church maybe.
Mike
