: What conflicts are there between the Roman Catholic : Church and astonomy? : What is the big bang Theory? : How was our solar system crreated? **********************************************

These are some questions that can't be answered properly in this format. The last two questions are closely related though. If you believe in the big bang, you probably have a completely different view on how our solar system was created than if you believe in "Creation" or any other version. The question I would like to address is the first question. Conflicts between church and science. These conflicts have come and gone through time. But the general trend, in my opinion, has been the "Church" giving in to scientific beliefs. Astronomy is not much of an issue any more in the everlasting "Religion vs. Science" debate. Evolution is probably a good modern day example, although the Pope has stated this is an acceptable believe for modern day Catholics. Keep in mind most Protestants, or many, who are Fundamentalists do not accept Evolution by a long shot. But within the Scientific and overall academic communities this issue has been put to rest. I think the coming debates will be about deeper issues such as "Free Will", the start of life, the human brain, etc, etc. Most of these issues deeling with ourselves instead of our environment. And ethical issues, such as Human genetics, technology, etc etc.
