Interesting-for The Same Reason I Do Not Pray

***This seems to be the best way I know how to be convinced that I am not the one in control of others or even of myself***

My intuition is that prayer is a means to control one's destiny, prayer that asks for reward or profit, that is. So I refrain from prayer and just notice what god sends my way. Of course, if a forest fire is being blown by strong winds towards my home, then I might resort to prayer as well as flight.

But the prayer that you employ is not a beseeching prayer, I see it as more of a prayer that would send energy to god. Now one might immediately reply that god does not need more energy. But I would then mention that Mother Mary promised to convert Russia back to Christianity if enough of the faithful said the Rosary enough times every day. So if not energy, my conclusion is that the godhead requires some kind of feeding for it to have the right to interfere with human life.

The chanting I do, which is what Jesus called the most important commandment (the Shema- which means hear), and which we are commanded to chant when we 'walk by the way' would accomplish a similar goal, I hope. So god needs to hear from us- bottomline.

With great respect,

Richard
