Because I think it provides an easy way for you to understand what I view to be logical inconsistencies in dogmatic religious belief by showing what their equivalents would be like in a secular environment. It makes the same arguments religion makes (simplified, but still) and puts them in a non-religious context, showing how silly the logic is.
