Generally, a theory is not considered to be non-factual or speculative simply because it is labelled a theory. A scientific theory is merely a comprehensive model by which to explain and predict empirical data in a cohesive manner. If a comprehensive model perfoms both functions, then it is a theory.

Don't get confused with the terms 'fact' and 'theory'. A fact is merely well-accepted beliefs that they are not reasonably doubted in a certain context. There are a number of theories in science that, in context, are given this status (e.g., Maxwell's electromagnetic theory, classical mechanics, Einstein's relativity theories, quantum mechanics, biological evolution, etc).

This is all very basic. The fact that you don't understand this elementary fact indicates that you haven't studied science. You seem to be only familiar with scientific tidbits, but mainly ignorant on the whole working assumptions of science. This is why I think you are so gullible to the young-earth creationism. Too bad, both you and Sam have an interest in science but you let dogma blind you and prevent you from appreciating the beautiful science that evolutionary science consists. It is a marvelous theory (even more marvelous if you are a theist such as myself).
