Near the singularity the 'elementary' particles are theorized to become unified at higher temperatures and pressures. For example, the standard model of physics has completed the unification of the W, Z, and photon (the carriers of the weak and electromagnetic force). Instead of two forces, there is only one force. Due to spontaneous symmetry breaking at some point in the expansion (cooling) of the universe, the one electroweak force carried by one boson (photon+W+Z combination), became two forces (or 3 particle carriers).

Currently, we don't have a particle theory that successfully unites the other 3 forces with the electroweak force. The next force thought to be unified is the strong force (nuclear force). One promising theory is supersymmetry which is a hoped for means to unite the electroweak force into the electroweakstrong force. In that case, the elementary particle that carries the strong force (the gluon) would be shown to be united as a photon-W-Z-gluon particle at extremely high temperatures and pressures. Again, due to spontaneous symmetry breaking at certain temperatures during the expansion at the big bang, the unified force became distinguishable and the gluon started to behave differently than the photon+W+Z particle.

The last force that is currently thought to be unitied would be gravity. The gravitational force is thought to be carried by a theoretical graviton particle. Theories that try to unite all the forces are seen as TOE (theory of everything). The most promising theory for unifying gravity with the other forces is string/M-theory.

As you can see, unification is a biblical principle. Instead of fighting against unity, you should be in support of these solid biblical principles.
