I'm going to let my secret out: I see dead people.

Well, not everyday, of course. But a couple of years ago I saw my grandmother sitting at our dining table, which wouldn't be anything special except for the fact she had been dead for 15 years or so. Many people have similar stories to tell so here's mine.

This wasn't a religious experience, although some people might be tempted to interpret it as an affirmation of religious beliefs. It was an ordinary experience, much like seeing anyone else, and that is what left me puzzled. It was just like looking at any person, no more intense, no less. I just woke up from a nap and she was there.

Now everyone to whom I tell this story tells me I must have been dreaming, but if dreams can get that vivid and that real then I could be dreaming right now. Since I don't want to spend the rest of my life wondering whether this is all a dream, I must find another explanation or simply regard it as something which can't be explained. Which is how I see it at the moment.

On being skeptic, what I meant was that I was a skeptic about these kinds of experiences, I thought people made up those stories. Now I know better.

Gotta go,

Aurino
