Unlike other people in this forum I am able to admit that I take others ideas and mold them with my own observations and experiences. It is called "thinking".

I have recently been reading a book entitled "Blowback". As I am sure you know, it refers to CIA jargon concerning collatoral damage caused by our foreign policies. One interesting segement in the book discusses our "friendship" with Japan. The book contends that maybe our relationship and rebuilding efforts after the war were not so noble as the popular media would have us believe. We use enormous japanese resources and spend millions of dollars to protect this country. We take up huge areas of land and prevent the Japanese from being able to develop their commerce in certain areas. The Japanese are also responsible for pumping certain monies into this program for their own "protection". The book also delves into aspects of how our "occupation" of this territory has delitarious ramifications on the indiginous populations (rape, theft, over consumption). Maybe we are not the noble state the media and government would have us believe. Just maybe the rest of the world does have complaints about our out of sight, out of mind foriegn actions. I am not saying 9/11 should be condoned or applauded, but maybe other countries have a beef with our shady system.
