I am not shifting the assignment of meanings. I am predicting the behavior of the ball.

Forgive me for interjecting in your ongoing dialogue, but it seems to me that there are both definitions and behavior. The equation that describes the flight of the ball involves several definitions. But it also involves a relationship of the definitions that is mathematical. I do not see the relationship as just another definition.

Regards,

Richard
