Partly granted, and wonder still,
"who wins what?"

Nice if we can separate the ends of the hoop
so the proposition is not circular
(ie. They won because they had the best science. And how can you tell they had the best science? Because they won !)

Comm Chi was somewhat aetheist/Marxist/"pro-science" for a while
and during that time there was a great Civil War
and during that Civil War, over 50 million Chinese apparently died at one another's hands. I could not find this on the internet, even with searches for books by John King Fairbank and Harrison Salisbury.
The stakes are high for being exact...is the best science comprised of having a few esoteric astrophysics geniuses among them, or is it a science culture, or what? You could write a book...what would you write as a thesis?
