They all believe that protons, electrons, photons, neutrinos, mesons, quarks, plus all their anti-particles actually exist, including dark matter.

They may or may not believe that the supersymmatric partners of these particles exist- like selectrons and photinos.

However, I agree that all these particles are placeholders as I do not think particles exist- only fields exist. But it is convenient to refer to the fields by the corresponding names of their particle duals.
