Mike,

I'm not sure why you think the sun rising is so certain. What if our corner of the universe underwent a false vacuum such as what Andrei Linde has theorized as the cause of the big bang? Astalavista, baby. What if a black hole was travelling through our sector overnight? Astalavista, baby. What if dark matter is clumpy and we our sun just runs into a big wall of it? Again, astalavista, baby? Like Richard said, it's all probability which is just another way of saying David Hume's "matter of fact".
