First time my title was ever cut off.

Let me elaborate on the word weak. It has to be coupled with the idea of a god heirarchy, as posted by Paul Martin.

Under normal circumstances, the god head contains many levels, perhaps an infinite number, in which the next higher level "drives" the level below it. Paul used the word 'driver'. That implies more control than I would expect. So I would say that the levels can normally only communicate with the next level up or the next level down. (jewish mystical tradition claims that there are seven levels and that god resides in the seventh, the one furthest away from us).

The levels need not be descrete. It could be a continium in which the idea of level is defined by how far a being in one level can comunicate. And then all beings are not equal. Some could comunicate farther than others. So the idea of levels may be an approximation or an average.

But the point is that the being or beings at the top does not comunicate with the lowest level, namely us, except by going through all the levels.

Also under normal circumstances the top being (again an approximation as there may not be a top) leaves us alone. Instead it sends marching orders down thru the heirarchy. The next to lowest level is made up of recently alive beings. They are like foreman except that they have no significant power over the workers, again the workers are us. In that sense the godhead is normally weak. The foreman can merely try to influence us thru dreams and revelation, and perhaps cioncidence. But I suspect that fate or coincidence may come from a higher level.

However, if the world is going badly, the higher levels may be compelled to intervene, usually in a disasterous manner, but also in a benign way like writing the ten commandments (at least in one movie god did the actual writng).

So in this sense, god can be both creator and yet under normal circumstances interact with humans and nature rather weakly.
