Solution of some equations (or at some conditions) can be chaotic (thus the behavior of system unpredictable) or uncertain (thus not fully but only partially preductable). That is why we need experiment for finding, say, exactly out of many (or infinite) possible solutions was realized in our universe.

Another example when we need experimental data is when dealing with complex system which can not be modelled accurately either due to lack of enough computers in visible universe or due to extreme sensitivity of equations to initial (or boundary) conditions.
