Alex, Let's Define Open-mindedness

Alex,

Before we decide on how open-minded or close-minded of a scientist you are, let's define the terms.

I would loosely define an open-minded person as somehow whose views on a particular subject does not cause them to be generally negative on relevant evidence that either contradicts or does not support their view. A close-minded person would be someone whose views are so tainted by their beliefs that they cannot deal positively with relevant evidence that either lacks endorsement of their view or even contradicts their view.

So, applying these definitions we see that you did not appear to be open-minded with the papers that I cited. In fact, you were generally negative and did not generally deal positively with the evidence merely because it did not endorse your view of the universe. You didn't even make a detailed response to the paper, but continued to respond as if you had not even read the paper (which I suppose you didn't, right?... right?).

Warm regards, Harv
