You badly need some good literature on 'evolution'. You have destroyed the very essence of the doctrine in a second. The shortest possible answer to your doubts is:
"evolution is a conservative and contingently progressive mechanism of modification."

I would have hated if an 18 year old would have advised me at the age of 30. But can't help you.

Why don't people understand evolution at the first instance?
