I think we should be living our lives in an attempt to influence the will of God. God's will is not necessary fixed (being probablistic in nature at lower priority levels), and therefore I think we need to increase our priority level by having an improving spiritual relationship with God. By being a higher priority for God, the probability of his will being extended in our behalf is much greater.


Problem is that this opens the floodgates for
your spiritual relationship with God to be judged by someone on Earth.
Unless you very carefully structure it otherwise.

This was the way it was done before
we had civil Constitutions guaranteeing
freedom of religion:
Fortunate persons curry favor with clerics
in return for land grants and political support.
Serfs toil away without hope, some illiterate and
in awe of the religion's Earthly power.
