Richard,

Dick is a tough one to figure, but I think he is talking about observables. All observables must be reducible to numbers. If I'm correct in this interpretation, then I don't see what could possibly not be represented by numbers since it seems that colors, tastes, sense of touch, sounds, etc can all be digitized and recreated miles from where the original observation was made. How is this done? In a nutshell, by representing the observables by numbers.
