To be damned with such faint praise
is like being praised with faint damnation.

I'm known for a vice I cannot practice to enjoy.

I mostly waded into the religion quagmire because
of nasty comments from a non-social scientist from a nation that carried out major genocides,
and the knowledge that so many free thinkers from Galileo and Newton to Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson had dug their heals in and spoken well of Jesus without playing to the crowd. And Darwin, of course, had no need to convert to Christianity on his deathbed as the rumor goes (see www.truthorfiction.org ...celebrities link for more)
because the Darwin family was an old Anglican family. His grandfather was known for writing erotic poetry. Shades of Rose of Sharon.
