I indeed am thinking about moving back, but my wife does not feel that this is a good idea. She said, it is rather wild capitalism there now (she was there a couple years ago). So moving back does not mean moving back in good safe Breznev's time when crime was virtually nonexistent and all benefits of socialism were there. "Alex, almost all past is gone - life there is completely different now" she said. May be I have to go there and see by myself.

And second, probably main reason, is that kids indeed are becoming got used to USA. They speak russian still well, but barely read russian not to say about accurate writing.

About retirement. I can retire even now (enough income from real estate), and may indeed to do so soon. And then, by the way, I may go to Russia and live there for a while (may be, work back in my institute) and decide where I feel more comfortable. After all, life is still much less expensive there than in USA, and many of my friends are there.

So, I am not sure where is better yet.
