That a commercial airliner would not respond to a military escort? That seems a little hard to believe.

In any case, why do you think the data that it could possibly gain from spying was in anyway worth the lives of hundreds of women and children? The visual resolution of satellites is probably more precise than what could be placed on a commercial jet while it refuels in Alaska. Really, Alex, it sounds like you are the one who has accepted the propoganda. I can't imagine a country shooting down a Korean commercial aircraft just because it took pictures at +30K/ft.
