An age's paradigm is like a software program for a group nervous system and sensory system. Groups choose a psychological environment. Optimizing this may be a science of the future.

It's almost impossible to build a community based on the "almost new" understanding that there are billions of galaxies and that humans may have only recently acquired the ability to think after descending from relatives of apes (or being created by genetic engineering by space creatures who were probably created by one of those methods.) Like nervous and sensory systems,
religions and personal philosophies selectively
filter out unwanted reality so we won't be overwhelmed.

Our Age's science and religion won't have the last word on what is objectively true or optimum
for a group psychology. We have a lot of rational baggage, some of which is not as true as we thought. This doesn't mean we have to become a fundamentalist, but are you sure you are _not one?
In 2,000 years, it _could seem that our own Age's most brilliant scientific minds were only a little less confused than the most delusional.
Distance makes things look closer together, plus
knowledge can still build much farther ahead than we are today.
So, let us allow persons to attend the "study hall of life" which is at their own level of understanding and suitable to their aspirations. Let us bicker and sneer and do all those human things if we must...and grope toward the better future.

You can form your own group for Benevolent Affection . Appears to be what Jesus did.
There was a lot of discussion. There was obviously a lot of doubting, judging from what
they thought on the last night before paid employees arrested the wandering healer/teacher/mystic who bravely defined God
in a way which has a lot of deep, self-evident logic without however closing the door to further definition.
Much of science was developed by people who
stated their highly intellectual
appreciation of Jesus' teachings.

Sometimes we may find ourselves refusing to
even consider those teachings because someone tried to force them on us, repeatedly, and in a context alien to our interests. But it's a short read just to see what a Man said who lived long ago.
