Seems I am half way between be ing an atheist and a theist. As a result both the atheists and the theists on this forum can criticize me, which is fine with me.

My contention, which may make me an atheist, is that god is not an all-powerful creator god. Science suggests this. I think scripture does as well, especially eastern scripture, which if you read closely, makes god look like an observer rather than a creator.

My further contention however is that a supernatural exists. There is not necessary conditions for the supernatural in science, but as I have previously tried to point out there are sufficient conditions to make a supernatural possible.

You seem to be arguing against a fundamentalist, which I am not. I also argue against fundamentalism- the literal belief in scripture.

The New testament was entirely written by people who never met Jesus, for example. The Old testament was written by Rabis who never met Moses. So it's quitw likely that the message got distorted along the way. But that is not a necessary condition for dismissing the existence of a supernatural complete with intelligent beings who can influence the course of human history. A rather difficult undertaking compared to the role of humans themselves who can merely rewrite history.
