"A free country is one where it is safe to be unpopular" (source unknown, sorry)
There seems cosmological importance in having respect for the right to courteously express heretical ideas.
One giant influence in history is founded upon an example where unusual views and ideas were quite unappreciated and punished by certain powerful persons.
Though followers in name have often shown
ignorance of this, thus negating their founding premise, many of the finest sciences have been founded by others of this persuasion.
