Hi Jisbond,

I think people overlook or take for granted the obvious things. Our consciousness and our requirement for sleep are two cases in point. I don't understand why these things aren't more baffling to more people.

I was born and raised in a small (pop. 1700) town in North Dakota. This was (and still is) the biggest town for 80 miles in any direction. It is about as close to the middle of nowhere as you can get in the US.

I follow no one's school of thought that I am aware of. Of course I have been influenced by many other thinkers such as Plato, Descartes, Spinoza, and Berkeley. The resulting beliefs I have arrived at, though, are strictly mine and I suspect that they conform to the beliefs of no one else.

Warm regards,

Paul
