You are surely familiar with Ilya Prigogine?
Misquoting him is not my intent. But he said something like, "matter's structures are constantly teetering between collapse and re-organization at a higher level of coherence."
Further, the statement someone on this list made
was that a "Driver" only would need to be in
a tiny, tiny amount to influence directions of development. If there is any free will at all,
it seems to be in our consciousness and even in our confusion. If we are "made in God's image"
perhaps it is related to this. Since "we" don't know what happens on other hospitable planets, Earth is an example. Does mechanics truly explain
all that has happened recentlyl, in human affairs? Does not seem so to me, although the mechanics of mental error deserve to be made into a kind of science. Because so much of what humans do seems to be based on bogus information.
