Einstein regretted that his discoveries were turned to military ends. Had he lived to see the innapropriate way people (mis)quote him, he would feel even worse.

Any measurable system can be treated statistically. Math does not rule the universe as much as it describes what we can measure about it. Which, as far as our knowledge can go, is pretty much all we can know about it. In the end it makes no difference. There are facts and there are speculations. Math handles facts, speculations are not worth the trouble except for people who have nothing better to do with their time.

To say that the universe behaves in non-mathematical ways is to claim that it's possible to come up with a set of measurements that cannot be described in mathematical terms, not even statistics. That's nonsense and a sign of scientific ignorance.
