The fly may by some chance not land on that milk pot, or the window may happen to be closed, or that person bringing virus may not damp the toilet paper yet.

So, you may see that nothing was set a few days ago - life of a baby was (as all events are) in the hands of probabilities. Not even due to quantum fluctualions but just due to too many interacting events.

Strike a raw of 5-10 billiard balls (separated from each other by some distance) by a hit ball and memorize the position of the last ball after everything stops, and if any balls got lose (lets call those "sick babies"). Now, try to reproduce this set of events by placing balls back to their original positions (as accurately as you can) and striking them by the same hit ball again. Most likely first few balls will hit each other in a similar pattern, but the futher down the chain you go, the more discrepancy in the final positions of balls you get (in comparison with their position in the first experiment).Now different baby got sick (or non). Try it one more time - again the distribution of positions will be different due to complexity of the system (many constantly changing influencing factors).

So, future of complex system is not set yet, and the father away from "now" the less predictable it is if the baby dies or not.

And it all is a chain of natural events, no influence of god is seen on any step.
